Design Prose is a global thought leadership and a digital platform for the discussion corner on built environment. Design Prose is a publication based out of New York, which covers qualitative and thoughtful curated content at an intersection of built environment, leadership and behavioral science. It is a platform which provides critique in a meaningful way to understand various aspects of built environment, real estate and workplace with a deeper understanding of human aspect and behavioral science and relation with each other.

Design Prose is founded and led by Pallavi Shrivastava. Pallavi is an architect and a writer on all things built environment. A published author of the book, The City Observed – Notes from an Unfolding India (2015, Copal Publishers). Book is a compilation of essays on built environment on Indian cities through the lens of social and cultural dynamics.

A seasoned writer and design academician and a regular contributor on workplace, design, urban design, behavioral science and design research for professional publications. Have taught at ISDI Parsons School of Design, Mumbai teaching a course on advance design research to senior cohort.

  • Did you know there is a term called Closet Introvert? People who pretend to be extroverts. Closet Introverts pass undetected as they play around subconsciously with more favoured “extrovert ideal” – the idea and belief that the ideal self is gregarious, alpha and comfortable in he spotlight category. And to quote Susan Cain; introverts living under the extrovert ideal are like people not living in their natural environment, away from their natural self.

  • I didn’t know what I didn’t know. People stress people. It’s not the physical design of workplace but the people design of the workplace. Collaboration and knowledge transfer is the key for efficiency, which technology hasn’t been able to solve. People can but people don’t. We have to remain unquiet, critical, sceptical and restless until we find out why.
